Rev.
Clarence Moore, a native of
Greenville, Mississippi, is the
illustrious pastor of Good
Shepherd Baptist Church in
Augusta, Georgia. Rev. Moore
came to Good Shepherd in 1983 as
the assistant pastor to Rev.
Essie Mae McIntyre. In 1986,
Rev. Moore became only the
second pastor in the history of
Good Shepherd Baptist Church
when Rev. Essie Mae McIntyre
retired.
In 1977, Rev. Moore answered the
call to preach the Gospel. In
September 1977, he was licensed
to preach at the New Jerusalem
Baptist Church in Greenville,
Mississippi, and was ordained to
preach in April 1983, at the
Antioch Baptist Church North in
Atlanta, GA.
During his tenure as pastor of
Good Shepherd, the church has
experienced many positive
changes and tremendous growth.
Membership has increased by more
than 3000. Many ministries and
services have been established
to respond to the holistic needs
of the membership and the
community. Under Pastor Moore’s
leadership the church instituted
the Preaching/Teaching format
during revival, the Mini
Congress/Revival, Saturday
Morning Bible Study, Children’s
Church, and an accredited Bible
Academy.
Good Shepherd, with the dynamic
and visionary leadership of Rev.
Moore, is active in local,
state, and national Christian
growth activities. Pastor
Moore’s past and current

Pastor Moore is married to the
former Patricia Sparrow, and
they have one son, Clarence
